Equinox

Autumn Equinox

Equinoxes are a time of change and shift

Fall in the air, you can just FEEL it!!
Moving from summer into the autumn,
not only is there a temperature drop, but there is a real sense of transition. The air smells different and evening comes quickly. Perhaps a new desire to cozy up in a sweater, drink soothing tea, and wrap a scarf around before leaving in the morning.
Transitions are a part of life, a huge part of life, and its important to slow down and truly BE in them every now and again

Sometime today or tomorrow the shift happens that marks the mid-way point between summer and winter. The days become shorter and we all look to embrace fall rituals for comfort in the sun's absence. It is a time to quiet our minds and and listen to what our body wants(I just made my first big pot of soup)
there are a bunch of rituals and little practices I discovered in my research for the equinox, read away if you feel like!!

The word “equinox” means equal, and “nox,” means “night. The two Equinoxes have an equal amount of day and night.

The Autumnal Equinox is a time to give thanks and rejoice in the abundance in your life.

Give thanks by holding a food drive or creating a gratitude list.

Try this Gratitude Ritual:

  • Face NORTH – Give thanks for your home, finances and health.
  • Face EAST – Give thanks for the knowledge you posses.
  • Face SOUTH – Give thanks for accomplishments in your career.
  • Face WEST – Give thanks for your spiritual growth and development.

Create a meal with some traditional fall foods like Squash, Apples, Root Veggies, Corn, Wine and Beer.

THIS is also a fun site, full of allllll kinds of interesting facts, ways to celebrate during the shifting of the seasons

HAPPY FALL EVERYONE
XO
